In order to contextualise and broaden the understanding of how research within Swedish architectural history has been carried out, we would like to invite all interested parties to join us for this symposium. We hope to inspire a collective effort to discover how Swedish histories of architecture have been written over time and how they may be positioned internationally. Our keynote speaker will be Professor Adrian Forty from The Bartlett School of Architecture.
During the symposium there will be ample opportunity to discuss and listen to papers concerned with:
- The way Swedish architectural history has been researched, by whom and where
- The different institutional frameworks where this research has been conducted
- The various media used by scholars in disseminating architectural history
- How the above parameters have influenced the aims and purposes of individual scholars.
The Organising Committee consists of Johan Mårtelius (Royal Institute of Technology). Stina Hagelqvist (Stockholm University and Linneaus University), Ulrich Lange (Gothenburg University), Britt-Inger Johansson (Uppsala University), and Catharina Nolin (Stockholm University.
More information about the conference will be posted on https://sahnetwork.wordpress.com/
